Sharing a meal is one of the best ways to turn strangers into friends. By spending time with established and new Kiwi's living in your backyard, you’ll learn more about how your neighbours live, what they value and what they enjoy.

AFTER YOU'VE SIGNED UP
We have several pre-scheduled dates in different Wellington region suburbs throughout the year. A couple of weeks before a scheduled dinner, we’ll let you know who'll be hosting and where the event will be taking place. Then we’ll put you in touch with a Coordinator who will make everything easy.

HOW THE DINNER WORKS
You go to the a suitable home or community space to spend a fun couple of hours sharing food and conversation. Simple as that!

This is a fun way to make new friends and think about the future, not to relive the past.

If you’re not comfortable speaking English we will do our best to have another person present, who is able to translate.

The Coordinator will be there to keep everything moving, so you can relax, have fun, and enjoy yourself!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AS A GUEST
Provide a dish for pot luck. If your home country has distinctive cuisine, you might want to bring an example as a great way to start conversation. Please bear in mind if you are preparing meat Halal is preferred.
